Dr. Maryam Tabar is a graduate of the University of California, Davis, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with an explicit emphasis on Molecular and Cellular Biology. She subsequently earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dr. Tabar and all the employees there are amongst the best medical professionals that I've encountered period. They will conduct each assesment & procedure with your best interests in mind, i.e., your dental health. If you are being told that something in your routine is lacking, or that something is at risk, listen and follow their advice. Girl Well Traveled317 days agoDr Tabar did a Zoom teeth whitening for me, it was my first time whitening my teeth, so it was a little bit nervous. She explained everything in a great amount of detail and then we checked in several times during the process to see how much more time I wanted to give it since I wanted more of a natural whitening look. I chose to do it for a total of 20 minutes. The results were just as I had hoped, And I’m happy to say there’s barely any sensitivity. I've been seeing Dr. Tabar for about a year and a half. Definitely one of the best dentists I've had the pleasure of going to. She is extremely kind + attentive and very transparent when it comes to informing patients of what any process may be like and what to expect (both physically, financially, etc.) I came here on the recommendation of my old roommate and I recently recommended my girlfriend to go here. Talk about the ultimate professional – kind, caring, a good listener/communicator, positive and just very client focused. I have never felt so at ease with a person that has to use a drill in your body – ever! She keeps you informed every step of the way, spends the time necessary to make sure all your questions are answered and is so thorough in here work/practice. Ah T.807 days agoOver the past couple decades, I have had no less than seven dentists in SF. None of them have been as detail oriented and diligent as Dr. Tabbar. She is attentive on matters as wide ranging as insurance reimbursement and exactly where you can expect to feel numb hours after a procedure. There are several private exam rooms & each one of them is done up very nicely. I came in for routine cleanings, she helped me consider a mouth guard (and they cleaned it when I came in), she handled my fillings as well. Sarah Schnee1681 days agoDr.Tabar is the best dentist I have had in my life - and that’s saying a lot since I have moved a lot and had many dentists. I trust her advice completely and know that she always puts my needs first and gives me an honest assessment of what is happening. Under her careful care and guidance, we were able to improve my gum disease even through a pregnancy and breastfeeding. She was also quick to identify and resolve dental issues I had while taking care of a newborn, managing the issue quickly and at lowest cost. I ask a million questions and at every interaction she is always deeply patient and communicative. I am a bit bummed to leave her since we are moving. I was a little hesitant about returning when I changed insurance companies since Digital was only listed as a secondary, but Dr. Taybar was able to resolve the issue so I could continue to go there. One of my favorite reasons for returning is her ability to deep clean without causing pain, which hasn't been the case with past dentists. Chung Ho1765 days agoDr Tabar is the best dentist I've ever had. My teeth and gums are certainly in the best shape they've ever been in. She's not going to sugarcoat and baby you when you don't have good dental hygiene practices and will tell you quite bluntly what you need to do but I appreciate that, I need the truth. She's very thorough during the regular check ups and will take the time and effort to make sure it's a very good clean. That said, her appointments can run a tad long so just note that when you book, particularly for times later in the day. Oh, and the chairs have massaging function!Posted on Yelp

C C.2263 days agoI highly recommend Dr. Tabar as an ethical and caring doctor, who will explain pros/cons clearly, encourage you to take care of your teeth/alignment, and only fill cavities that truly need it vs drilling unnecessarily. I was referred to Dr. Tabar by a coworker and am very happy with my experience so far. The office is super clean and I felt comfortable even during COVID -- they were wiping down all pens, chairs, wearing PPE, filtering the air in each room and through the ventilation system, etc. Dr. Tabar is personable, caring, and honest. I have had past dentists who are "drill happy" and would find and fill many tiny cavities that didn't necessarily need it. Dr. Tabar is very conservative about fillings and I haven't needed one in the 2 years I've seen her. I am also grateful that she gently yet firmly pushed me to get orthodontics for some back teeth that were terribly misaligned. I have moved around the Bay Area but I have not considered seeing other dentists because she is patient, caring and funny, and her staff is professional, never have problems processing insurance. I haven't been to the dentist since college and had had less than positive dental experiences in the past, but they walked me through every step of the appointment warmly and professionally. The actual procedures were, well, they were dental procedures, but they were far more quick and painless than I remember them being in the past. Bokhara Lashi2696 days agoUniversal Top Needs in a Dentist: (1) Type A for cleanliness (2) Honest and Not Pressuring (3) Uses Modern equipment (4) Green Business Commitment (5) A Nice Person. If you feel the same way - Dr. Tabar is for you! I was referred to Dr. Tabar by a close friend and have never looked elsewhere since. Prior to going to Dr. Tabar the dentist was always a painful experience that involved a lot of pressure from the orthodontist for me to get braces (my teeth are not perfectly straight). I love my teeth crooked and all so this was always a challenge to impart on other Dr.'s. I went in concerned about a chip in one of my teeth and an overall need to access the current state of my teeth since it had been (ahem) many years since I had been to the dentist. Dr. Tabar was more thorough in her examination than ANY other dentist that I have ever been to. She clearly takes pride in her craft and my teeth are ever grateful to her for it. She did NOT pressure me into getting braces or invisalign, she didn't shame me for my lack of flossing (I am getting better though) and to top it off she said the chip in my tooth I was concerned about was nothing to worry about! Each appointment she always inspects it to make sure. If that wasn't enough, her assistant Marvella is so gentle when she assists, her sweet and friendly nature makes the process overall a pleasant experience. Melia R.2788 days agoDr. Tabar has been my dentist for three years, and I couldn't be happier. Every time I need to come in, her team attends to my teeth with care and a smile. The office is clean and modern. They have massage rollers in the dental chairs and televisions monitors hanging overhead. Imagine having your teeth whitened while watching a makeover unfold on Netflix's "Queer Eye." I've done it. It's wonderful. I appreciate that Dr. Tabar is honest with me about my dental needs. When I chipped a tooth last year and planned to have it filled, she told me flat out it wouldn't be worth the money. (The type of filling I required would pop out every six months or so, and was not covered by my dental insurance.) She could have made a lot more money on my mouth, but she had my best interests at the top of her mind. The only downside is that her office is usually running about 20 minutes behind on appointments. You can call ahead to see how the wait is. M. F.2795 days agoDr. Tabar is the real deal. She helped me through my (unfortunate) Dentageddon of 2017 where my filling broke and I needed a root canal and crown (amongst countless fillings, doh). When she was fitting my crown, she didn't like the crown they made from the mold of my tooth (it didn't fit well), so she sent it back to be remade. todd p.2815 days agoDr. Tabar cares - I was having a very concerning dental problem over Christmas vacation. I left a message at her office in the morning. The office was closed as she was on vacation and out-of-town, but she returned my message within half an hour to connect with me and express the urgency of needing to see a specialist based on my symptom description over the phone. Then, she proceeds to find and get me a same-day appointment with probably the only one open in the city (I know this because I made tons of calls to different practices, myself, to no avail). I have been going there for years. She also works with a very great root canal specialist who is a nice as she is. Last time I needed one, it was an emergency because I was leaving for Europe for 3 weeks. She was going out of town for a conference and offered to modify her departure to accommodate my needs!!! Christopher K.3320 days agoProfessional, efficient (it really is Digital), friendly and honest, DDP impresses me as well-managed practice with excellent staff that I recommend to anyone. Having not visited a dentist in several years, I called up DDP as a new client and got the first available appointment three weeks out. Upon arrival to their cozy third floor Financial District suite, I was promptly greeted by the receptionist and led to a computer where I typed and digitally signed my new client paperwork within five minutes. Before I could select a waiting room magazine, a friendly assistant led me to my patient chair equipped with adjustable electronic back massage and Netflix, quite Digital indeed. Being the discerning (i.e. annoying) customer I am, I elected out of receiving their recommended X-rays, which thereby makes it impossible for the doctor to fully examine my inner teeth and bone. Despite my stubborn refusal to follow their advised treatment, they politely explained the requisite risks, then obliged by letting me sign a waiver. DDP didn't act overly pushy to up-sell their services like some other dentists do, they seemed honest and trustworthy. The hygienist who proceeded cleaning my neglected teeth was very gentle, not once did I wince from an unexpected prod or poke. Dr. Tabar examined me to her best ability without having my X-rays, she confirmed I had no visual cavities or other oral ailments, then recommended scheduling a checkup in three to six months at which I might consider getting X-rays :) A satisfaction survey was emailed to me after my visit, so Digital.Posted on Patient Connect365Dara K.3321 days agoI had an extraordinarily positive experience this morning with Dr. Tabar and her staff. I haven't been to the dentist since college and had had less than positive dental experiences in the past, but they walked me through every step of the appointment warmly and professionally. The actual procedures were, well, they were dental procedures, but they were far more quick and painless than I remember them being in the past. Dental Hygienist Linda did an excellent and pain-free job on my undoubtedly challenging chompers. Glad I chose Dr. Tabar's office and I will be returning here in the future.Posted on Yelp

I feel like we've developed a friendship over the last couple of years, so I'm never afraid to go to the dentist anymore. Her dental hygienist staff are also very good. I had the easiest and most enjoyable teeth cleaning of my life today. There are massage dental chairs in this office... and Netflix on tv screens in every exam room. Super convenient location in the heart of FiDi. Dan D.3479 days agoSome people hate going to the dentist. Not me. I love going to the dentist. And I'm really not picky about who I see, either. Which makes it surprising, then, that I'd cut all the way across town (forgoing dozens of dentistries closer to work/home) for an appointment at Digital Dentist Practice. Why? Because Dr. Tabar and her staff are the best. I look forward to every appointment--not just because I like squeaky-clean teeth, but because they're great people. If you dread dental work, they'll put you at ease. If dental work is NBD and dentists are typically interchangeable for you, DDP will still win you over.Posted on Yelp

Krysta at the front desk did me a solid by bugging my lazy insurance company to divulge what they actually cover for orthodontia and always friendly and helpful on the phone. The dental hygienists (there's a few) are gentle with implements and the feelings of a nervous dental patient which I greatly appreciate. Dr. Tabar is a sweetheart, very nice and very thorough. She listens carefully and is happy to explain in detail the differences in procedures, what is a good choice for your teeth and wallet (short-term and long-term value), and is also very gentle. Chris C.3713 days agoI've been a customer for a couple years now. I went nervously following a 5 year break from going to dentists. Dental work has not suddenly become my favorite thing, but Dr. Tabar is awesome enough to make it tolerable. She is honest, goes out of her way to make sure you understand procedures, and is likeable and friendly without being over the top about it and seeming put on. I trust her to do the best work she can and only what is medically necessary. They do offer cosmetic services, but that isn't something I'm interested in at this time, and they've never tried to upsell me or even mentioned anything cosmetic. Ive had appointments start a few minutes late...but I've also gone in one less than a days notice and been treated immediately in emergency situations. I dont mind waiting knowing I will receive thorough and quality service. Great dentist.Posted on Yelp

I emergency cracked my tooth a few weeks ago and she immediately got my admitted to the office. I also come every 6 months for my routine cleaning, and she makes the experience fast and painless. The care I've received at Digital Dental has always been excellent on interventions as varied as placing an implant crown to placing a traditional one, after I had had a root canal. When I first came to Dr. Tabar, she quickly discovered a major infection under a tooth, an infection which had gone unnoticed elsewhere for quite some time. She referred me to the oral surgeon who removed the tooth, placed a bone graft and ultimately put in the post for the implant - all at an excellent standard of care. The chairs have a general messaging feature that is very relaxing and you can watch Netflix while they work on you. Dr. Tobar is friendly and knowledgeable but doesn't try to upsell you. She also the one who does the teeth cleaning, not a hygienist and she is very through. She also doesn't lecture, you know if you've been flossing and so does she, but she doesn't shame you about it. Digital Dental was recommended to me by two colleagues. They cited the comfy chairs, Netflix, and pleasant experience with Dr. Tabar and assistant. I've found that I also really appreciate the thorough teeth cleaning, the honest (I need to floss more, big surprise) approach, and the lack of "upsell" from the team. I've asked them questions regarding conversations I've had with my parents' dentist whom I trusted a lot and they always seem to be on the same page regarding my teeth. If you feel the same way - Dr. Tabar is for you! I was referred to Dr. Tabar by a close friend and have never looked elsewhere since. Prior to going to Dr. Tabar the dentist was always a painful experience that involved a lot of pressure from the orthodontist for me to get braces (my teeth are not perfectly straight). I love my teeth crooked and all so this was always a challenge to impart on other Dr.'s. I went in concerned about a chip in one of my teeth and an overall need to access the current state of my teeth since it had been (ahem) many years since I had been to the dentist. Dr. Tabar was more thorough in her examination than ANY other dentist that I have ever been to. She clearly takes pride in her craft and my teeth are ever grateful to her for it. She did NOT pressure me into getting braces or invisalign, she didn't shame me for my lack of flossing (I am getting better though) and to top it off she said the chip in my tooth I was concerned about was nothing to worry about! Each appointment she always inspects it to make sure. If that wasn't enough, her assistant Marvella is so gentle when she assists, her sweet and friendly nature makes the process overall a pleasant experience. Christina D.4019 days agoI have been seeing Dr. Tabar for about two years and have had nothing but positive experiences (it always helps getting a clean bill of health too ;))! Dr. Tabar's dental assistant, Marvella, is awesome as well - both women are very kind and easy to talk to and make the experience relaxed and pleasant. This office is very conveniently located in the FiDi and I have recommended several of my coworkers, given its proximity to our building and the excellent care I've been provided. To address the upselling comments in a couple reviews: Dr. Tabar suggested Invisalign to me in the past, and upon asking for an explanation as to why, it was not "cosmetic" but rather for health reasons, which she explained to me in detail using models and images. I have not bit the bullet yet as it is quite $$$ (but still on my radar!), but I definitely got the impression that Dr. Tabar was coming from a position of patient care first and foremost, rather than sales. She always takes extra time to explain what's going on throughout the procedure, does a great job educating me on my teeth, answers my questions thoroughly, and constantly checks in to make sure I'm comfortable. The office is always clean and a bonus that it's easily accessible via public transportation. The patient coordinators and friendly and hospitable and the dental assistants are very knowledgeable. Rohit N.4196 days agoThis is a review out of the blue. Last time I saw her was at least 2 months ago. In general I have never liked dentists. Just never. Till I met Dr. Tabar. Dr. Tabar is super awesome! I have been with her for close to 2 years now. She earned my trust over the 4 bi-annual visits I have done with her. I have had fair amount of work done by her, and have seen great improvement in last 2 years that I have been with her. She has suggested me few things which some might consider as sales pitch, but I have never felt coerced to do anything I wasn't comfortable with. Indeed she was willing to wait if I didn't want to undergo a minor procedure unless I was sure that I needed it. Estavan M.4391 days agoDr. Tabar is such a pro. Her staff is also amazing. I needed a new dentist after moving out to the Bay area earlier this year and found my way to Digital Dental based on the highly positive Yelp reviews. Finding a new dentist isn't easy. Especially finding one that you really like. Visiting the dentist is usually a very dreaded experience for most, myself included. But Dr. Tabar is really great and makes you feel relaxed. From her extreme professionalism, her funny stories and genuine care for her patients, I truly am thankful I ended up finding her. I had a lot of work needing to be done and in a short amount of time b/c my insurance was ending as I moved from one job to the next. She was so accommodating, even for me as a new patient. She squeezed me into any free time she had and even stayed way past office hours to work on my root canal. I should note that my favorite part is the fact that she has flat screens set up above your head so that you can watch anything you'd like on Netflix while getting the work done on your mouth. It really does help distract from what's going on.The office is extremely clean, lots of cutting edge technology and she always walks you through your x-rays in detail. Jessica D.4511 days agoI'm not a fan of going to the dentist but after going to Digital Dental and having been fortunate enough to have Dr. Tabar work on my mouth, I am happy to say that I actually get excited about it. I've seen dentists from the South + East Bay but I must say that Dr. Tabar is beyond exceptional. She's VERY thorough, in that she explains every aspect of your dental X-Rays to you. She outlined all the work that I needed and laid out all the costs, making it very easy for me to evaluate. I had some work done by her (specifically 2 fillings as well as some work done after a root canal), and she really spends a lot of time to make sure everything is perfect. She also really cares to make sure you are at ease during the procedures. Her assistants are all also exceptionally friendly and smart. James K.4623 days agoI hadn't been to the dentist in about 3 years, so I knew it was long overdue, especially when my tooth chipped from a deep cavity that had formed. I was in a lot of pain and I couldn't eat solid foods, so it was important that I saw someone ASAP. I did some research and read some Yelp reviews and landed on Dr. Tabar. Her whole office was extremely helpful in getting me an appointment, and helping me begin my journey to resolving the issues going on in my mouth - TMJ, cavities. Everyone in the office was extremely friendly. No one was judgmental apropos of the condition I was in. Dr. Tabar told me the exact steps I'd need to take to resolve my issues. And within 3 days, the cavity causing me pain was completely taken care of! The atmosphere at the office is very relaxing which is important to me, due to the fact that I'm terrified of dental visits. Needless to say, I am very happy with my experience with Dr. Tabar and her team and will be seeing her regularly. I'd recommend Digital Dental Practice to anyone!Posted on YelpJennifer G.4690 days agoI don't like anyone poking around in my mouth with sharp implements, likely directly related to having extensive (and likely elective) oral surgery foisted upon me by my image-conscious parents when I was a kid. Then there was multiple lip surgeries due to an accident. I've had nice enough dentists in the past, but I usually leave their offices with fingernail marks in my palms. I refused to go back to the last dentist after it was clear that their staff kept notes based on the chit-chat between patient and hygienists, and used these notes so that any one of their hygienists could pick up the discussion where they last left off. Too creepy. After avoiding dentists for a few years, there came a day when I could no longer put off needing to replace a crown. I found Dr. Tabar after doing a search for SF dentists that used digital x-rays. Her website reflected a commitment to sustainability and respecting the patient, so I went with her even though she was new on the scene. I realize it is a bit cliche, but her dental practice is THE BEST I've encountered so far. Dr. Tabar is sincere and gentle. She says "Please open wider" (rather than the standard "Open" or "Wider." She regularly checks in with me during appointments to see how I'm doing and doesn't make me feel bad for needing to "take a break." I don't get any flack about not wanting fluoride (in my toothpaste or polish, although she offers it and my partner, who also sees her now, gladly uses it) and I don't have to remind her not to use the fluoride polish. Not once have I been charged more than what I was quoted in advance. And last, but surely not least, I can't forget the MASSAGE CHAIR! When I get stressed about an upcoming appointment, I focus on the massaging exam chair that awaits, and I find the extra resolve to show up. In conclusion, let me say that there was nothing a dentist could do or say to get me to floss regularly, until Dr. Tabar showed me digital pics she took of my teeth. She doesn't judge, she encourages and let's the facts speak for themselves. She's gives you your options straight up when you have a problem tooth, so you can make a smart decision together. No, I still don't like getting dental work done, but Dr. Tabar's practice makes it tolerable enough that I actually go for my twice a year cleanings.Posted on Yelp
A P.4740 days agoI loved my childhood dentist. I went to him for 15+ years and within that time he managed to stay up-to-date with all the dental technology. I was sad to leave him and his wonderful practice when I moved to San Francisco. My first new dentist in SF was William R Smith (http://www.yelp.com/biz/william-r-smith-dds-cow-hollow-dental-center-san-francisco). He works with his daughter, Dr. Connelly. Both were very pleasant people, but I'm sad to say their practice is completely out-dated, which I found surprising given his daughter RECENTLY GRADUATED from UoP. I walked away from my bi-annual dental exam with a quick brush and floss, 20 minutes max-no gum measuring, fluoride treatment, anything else. Why else do we have dental insurance? I was worried that maybe all other dentists were actually like this, and it was only my childhood dentist who went above and beyond. I decided to give Dr. Tabar a chance because something just did not feel right about leaving my dental care in the hands of Dr. Smith and I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER! I filled out all of my "paperwork" completely on the computer with the guidance of her wonderful receptionist. I then took x-rays with her dental hygienist, who was just as sweet, all while watching Netflix on a screen in front of me. Dr. Tabar's exam was as thorough/gentle/amazing as it could be. Her technology even allowed her to take pictures and pull them up on the screen in front of me. She took the time to explain everything in detail, even a minor scrape on the roof of my mouth. Her wonderful collaboration with her hygienist made me feel confident I was putting my dental care in the right hands. In addition, Dr. Tabar's office almost feels like a spa with the updated decor, air-massage chairs and scented spa-towelette they give you after your visit to wipe off your face. NOT ONE THING will disappoint you about choosing Dr. Tabar as your dentist. I went there expecting only detailed cleaning, but was seriously blown-away by the exemplary service I received. Dr. Tabar gives thorough proactive dental care advice with various options of treatment for long lasting healthy teeth and gums. Thinking ahead, that is nice. Good location too, not lumped together with all the other dentists at 450 Sutter. The costs are reasonable, average I think for the profession. For 5 stars it would have to blow my mind, perhaps get a manicure while I get my teeth cleaned (in addition to the massage chair) - plus the rating looks more authentic if not everyone just gives all the stars :) But seriously, I would recommend Dr. Tabar's office highly.Posted on YelpW A.5157 days agoMy wife and I have now both gone to see a relatively new dentist in downtown SF - Dr. Maryam Tabar - and it was actually positive experience. She is the most gentle dentist I have ever had. It's really nice for those of us who have to work during the week she's open for appointments on Saturday. She's the only dentist in the office and along with her assistant is doing ALL of the work even the cleaning. The office itself is brand new with all modern equipment: computerized records and forms, new special drills and cleaning stuff, the chairs even give you a massage. Overall the office has a modern professional feeling. Dr. Tabar is extremely thorough - carefully checking for everything from cavities and gum disease to oral cancer. My wife has had a couple filling done. She has problems holding her jaw oper for long periods but Dr. Tabar has been very accomodating. I'm never going to like going to the dentist but I have at last found one I feel comfortable seeing.Posted on Yelp

The office is very clean, equipped with modern machines, tastefully designed in soothing colors that underline Dr. Tabar's careful and attentive approach to dentistry. Dr. Tabar gives thorough proactive dental care advice with various options of treatment for long lasting healthy teeth and gums. Thinking ahead, that is nice. Good location too, not lumped together with all the other dentists at 450 Sutter. The costs are reasonable, average I think for the profession. I went to her at the recommendation of my sister and iIm glad that I did. I'm someone who is a coward when it comes to going to the dentist and she and her staff are wonderful at making you feel relaxed and very comfortable with everything that they do. She thoroughly explains everything and makes it easy to understand what's going on and what her recommended treatment plan is for you. If you haven't been to the dentist in awhile, or are afraid of going to the dentist, or your just looking for a great dentist, then Dr. Tabar is for you.Posted on Patient Connect365A Google User5307 days agoI initially came across Digital Dental Practice in my search for a dental office that used a digital x-ray process; less exposure to harmful electric magnetic radiation. I had no way of knowing, that by making an appointment at Digital Dental, I'd be crossing the thresh hold of such a professional, dedicted, authentic, caring and down to earth dentist and person. She definitely embodies her passion for dental care, and it's transmuted to me everytime I'm sitting in the dental chair (equipped with a back massager so your muscles don't fall asleep). She not only takes the time to answer all my questions regarding procedures and treatment plans, she meticulously breaks down my dental insurance coverage! It's only her and her assistant seeing all her patients, as continuity of care is a priority for her. Dr. Tabar referrred me to an endodontist for a root canal and this partticular endodontist was prosessional, gracious, accomodating and conservative in her " root canaling". Dr. Tabar raises the bar for the dental profession, I trust her implicitely.Posted on Patient Connect365A Google User5307 days agoDr. Tabar is a personable and very professional dentist. I have grown to love my dental visits. She is very knowledgeable and honest about treatments and does her best to preserve your teeth as much as possible. (Never met a dentist that gave me as much information about treatments as she does.) She has all of the modern gadgets including digital x-rays and great monitors where she shows me exactly what's going on. She always makes me feel welcome when I come in for visits. She's a perfectionist so when I had my crowns done, she made sure that I was 100% satisfied with how they fit before I walked out of the office. She also made follow-up calls just to check and make sure everything was fine. I love that she's available at many times of the day including Saturdays. I am very lucky to have found Dr. Tabar! P.S. My first appointment didn't show up in her calendar and she took me anyway. She then had an emergency procedure come up in the middle of my cleaning. A few days later I got a card with a gift card to a coffee shop to apologize for making me wait. I've never met a dentist that truly appreciates her patients and gives her all to customer satisfaction. First of all let me say it’s really nice that someone finally gets it – for those of us who have to work during the week she’s open at no extra charge for appointments on Saturday. She is the only dentist working in the office and along with her assistant is doing all of the work – from the cleaning to the fillings. She says that because of this she has a chance to know the conditions and needs of her patients teeth. Second the office itself is brand new with all modern equipment: computerized records and forms, new special drills and cleaning stuff, the chairs even give you a massage. Overall the office has a modern professional feeling and is decorated in a soothing colors that are subtly calming. I put going to the dentist on the list of fun things to do just under … well, let’s just say I don’t like it. With they’re sharp metallic instruments and screaming drills it usually feels like you’ve signed up to be the demonstration dummy for a class on S&M. In contrast, Dr. Tabar was very gently. She used a sonic scraper (I think that’s what it’s called) instead of the metal scraping and it was sooo much better. She is also extremely through – carefully checking for everything from cavities and gum disease to oral cancer. Her office is very clean and modern with an easy all digital sign-in, massage chair, and digital pictures of what was happening inside of my mouth on a screen right above the chair. She saw me same day, was on time, and was very helpful about the pain in my mouth. Additionally, she gave good advice on my grinding and did a thorough exam of my mouth for habits that could lead to problems (cancer, jaw issues, pain) down the road. I have very sensitive teeth/gum lines and the cleaning she did was very thorough but gentile (unlike my last cleaning visit in NY where my hygienist had to numb my gumline and then I still needed to walk out in the middle of the cleaning). She called me 2 days later to make sure that my pain was gone and to follow up on a discussion we were having about a night mouth guard. She is very professional. She answered all my questions in detail. I trust her as my dentist and I am taking my kids to her soon for their annual exams. The dentist and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The office is new and super clean. I had my appointment during my lunch break at work and I didn't have to wait to see the Dr. So it worked out great, I was in and out in no time.
