Bioclear
Bioclear: Rejuvenate, Restore, Protect:
Bioclear is an innovative dental technique that uses clear anatomic matrices and heated composite resin to rebuild and reshape teeth. It was developed to address cosmetic and structural issue more conservatively than traditional methods like crowns, veneers or composite bonding.
Although porcelain veneers, traditional composites, inlays/onlays, and crowns have a strong, valid, and important place in dentistry, Bioclear does offer an equally strong, valid, viable alternative depending on the case. Bioclear requires even more conservative tooth preparation and they are more technique sensitive and labor intensive than traditional composites. These restorations do well for teeth that are under quite a bit of compression because Bioclear tends to “hug” and wrap around the damaged area, requiring as little tooth removal/modification as possible.
Bioclear is especially effective for:
- Closing black triangles (spaces between the teeth near the gum line) due to bone loss, gum recession, or after orthodontic treatment
- Cosmetic closing of diastemas (spaces between the teeth)
- Reshaping worn or chipped teeth due to bruxism (clenching and grinding) and/or acid erosion
- Fixing peg lateral or small teeth
- Replacing old stained fillings
- Replacing missing cusps
- Overlaying cracked teeth
- Cosmetic smile makeovers due to various reasons
Bioclear restorations can permanently stain due to smoking and/or heavy consumption of coffee, dark juices, red wine, turmeric drink, or anything else that stains a natural tooth. They require daily brushing and flossing like a natural tooth and regular professional cleaning at intervals set by your dentist based on your dental needs.
